Fanari Beach

Fanari beach is one of the most well-known on Meganisi with its turquoise waters, sun-bleached white pebbles and is backed by a line of trees which offer an area of shade.

There are 2 small beach bars, Fanari Beach Bar and Jammin' in Paradise , where, as the name suggests, you can chill out listening to the reggae, latin or blues music over a drink or a snack after soaking up the sun on this idyllic beach. You can hire sun loungers and beach umbrellas from the bars. There is a track road which carries on straight past the beach bar, the track leads to a small beach and a lighthouse on the cape. ("Fanari" means lighthouse in Greek). If you feel like a full lunch or dinner you could head back around Atherinos Bay to Niagas Taverna which serves delicious traditional Greek food.

A road leads to the beach from Vathy or Katomeri via Atherinos Bay. During the heat of the summer the walk can be challenging, so you may prefer to book a taxi, hire a scooter or drive if you have a hire car. Alternatively, you can hire a small motorboat from Vathy and explore the coastline en route.
