Elia is the closest beach to Katomeri village. The bay is sheltered from the winds and it is a long narrow beach of small pebbles.

 

There are 2 holiday accommodations on the beach, however, it is always a quiet location even with the occasional boat anchoring off further out in the bay during the high season. While the sun is setting in the West the mountains on mainland Greece opposite light up pink.

 

The beach is exposed to the sun and only has a little shade provided by a couple of trees lining the beach. We would advise taking a sun umbrella with you. The rocks on the right hand side of the bay provide a great environment for an array of marine life to observe while snorkeling.

 

To get to the beach follow the road by walking or driving down the hill past the Town Hall in Katomeri. The turning point is tight at the bottom of the hill so be careful if driving. There are no facilities on the beach so we recommend you take your own food and drink or venture back up the hill into Katomeri village for a nice traditional meal within an enchanting Greek village.
